Australia v Pakistan 2nd Semi-Final ICC T20 World Cup (2010)

Australia vs Pakistan – ICC T20 World Cup 2010 – 2nd Semi Finals Match at Beausejour Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia, On May 14th, 2010 21:00 IST | 15:30 GMT | 11:30 Local Time Onwards.

The second semi-final of the ICC World T20 will be played between Australia and Pakistan at St. Lucia. Australia have exhibited a clinical display of performance that they have played in so far, while Pakistan have only just scraped through to the semi-final through the back-door. And despite this, Pakistan’s record in such scenarios will make them a dangerous opposition.

England is already qualified for the final after beating Sri Lanka with easy hand. We have two better sides in Second Semi Final Pakistan and Australia. Paksitani team is not very much in good form but in my opinion they can give tough time to the Australian side.

Pakistan is the only team who have played in all three ICC World twenty20 and they knows how to handle the pressure game but by seeing the form of Australians it’s very hard to believe that Pakistan will make it for the final for the third successive time when they take on the Australians in the 2nd semi final of ICC world twenty20 2010.

Pakistan reached to the semi final with some outstanding performance in their last super eight games against South Africans where they beaten the favorites South Africa by quite a margin. They have to also thank England for helping them out in the last four. However the win for England against New Zealand not only allowed Pakistan to enter the semi final stage but also given them more than a chance to defend their world twenty20 title.

Australians looked in spot of bother in two games, one against Bangladesh and in the game against Sri Lanka but their lower orders on each occasion played brilliantly specially M.Hussey to not only allowed them to recover from horrible situation to a match winning one.

There batting looked more dangerous than any team in the tournament with the players like David Warner, Shane Watson, C.White and M.Hussey in their rank. In bowling department Dirk Nannes, S.Tait and M.Johnson given them a great start in every game with the ball and no doubt M.Clark once again will look for similar start from them to leave Pakistan middle order to do plenty of work.

Pakistan Squad: Salman Butt, Kamran Akmal (WK), Md. Hafeez, Umar Akmal, Shahid Afridi (Captain), Misabh-Ul-Haq, Abdur Razzaq, Fawad Alam, Abdur Rehman, Saeed Ajmal, Md. Amer.

Australia Squad: S.Watson, D.Warner, M.Clark (Captain & WK), D.Hussey, C. White, M.Hussey, B.Haddin (WK), S.Smith, M.Johnson, S.Tait, D.Nannes.
