Italy Serie A action, Inter Milan V Lazio, Catania V AC Milan-BetUK

There is a pair of big matches on the schedule this weekend in Italy Serie A action. Let’s have a look at both of them and see about the top picks, the best football odds from online sportsbooks, the Italy Serie A odds and more at betuk.

Inter Milan V Lazio

Inter slipped up last weekend by getting beat 1-0 away at Napoli, they still however have the league championship in their own hands, they are still 7 points clear of second placed AC Milan, who won last week at home to Palermo 3-0.

With only 5 games remaining Inter need to return to winning ways quickly if they are to take the top spot. The reverse fixture back in December saw Inter run out 3-0 winners, Lazio had the both the majority of possession and shots in that match, which you would expect from the home team.

Lazio have already beaten both Juventus (in the cup) and Roma (league) this month and I think that there could be a shock result in this game.

A good play looks to be taking Lazio to beat Inter Milan in the regulation 90 minutes at +520 with betuk.

Catania V AC Milan

If AC is to claw some points back on the league leaders they need to win this match and take all three points. Catania went to Lecce last weekend and were beaten 2-1, which was a poor result for Catania as Lecce are second bottom and looking likely relegation candidates.

AC Milan's away form has been disappointment this season, out of the 21 games played they have only manage 6 wins, 5 draws and 5 loses.

The last time these two met in the reverse league fixture, Milan ran out 1-0 winners, Kaka scoring the games only goal after Milan had had 21 sots on goal compared to Catania's 9. Look for AC Milan to put more pressure on Inter by winning this game, and 1-0 ticks all the boxes.

Play over 2.5 goals in Barca/Chelsea, Football Champions League at BetUK

If ever there was a match that looked destined to end up with over 2.5 goals being scored it is tonight’s Champions League match between Barcelona and Chelsea (live on ITV1 at 7.45pm).

Barca tends to deliver for those who love to back the “overs”, and a price of 1.8 on BetUK for over 2.5 goals here looks to be a good investment.

Not only are they oozing attacking talent from every position, the Spaniards also have sufficient defensive fragilities to make this a worthwhile punt.

While Guardiola’s charges average 2.9 goals per game in the Champions League, they also conceded 1.2 goals per game on average and both home matches against Lyon and Bayern covered not just the over 2.5 goals market but the over 3.5 one too.

Chelsea is not the defensive machine they were under Jose Mourinho and Avram Grant either. Their last two away matches, at Juventus and Liverpool, both saw 4 goals and then there’s the 4-4 draw with Liverpool at Stamford Bridge to consider as well.

All in all, this looks like it will be a goal fest and it could certainly pay to have a bet on that eventuality.

Stay back at betuk.com for updates and live scores on Football Champions League.

Draw likely in Newcastle/Portsmouth, English Premiership at BetUK

Newcastle is in real trouble in second-to-last place in the English Premier League. They need a win so badly but haven’t exactly stepped up a gear since the arrival of former player and Geordie hero Alan Shearer as manager.

At 4/5 we don’t think they are very good value to win tonight’s game with Portsmouth (live on Setanta 1 at 8pm).

On paper this home fixture against bottom half Portsmouth is the most winnable of Shearer’s four matches in charge of Newcastle to-date.

Though the Magpies have failed to win at St James’s Park in seven games since before Christmas, they have faced all of the Big Four and two of the other top seven in that period.

When bottom half opposition has visited St James’s Park this season, the Magpies have drawn four and lost once in seven. Similarly, Portsmouth has failed to win away to a bottom four team in eight attempts since 2007, drawing five times. Where a drawn outcome may appeal, the stats are even more compelling for both teams to score.

Both teams have scored in all seven of Newcastle’s home games against bottom half teams this term, whilst the same scenario occurred in six of Pompey’s eight matches on the road to bottom four teams since 2007.

So, with all this in mind what we could be looking at here is a high-scoring draw. We suggest backing two of the 1-1 and 2-2 score lines, at 6/1 and 14/1 respectively with sports betting uk. A sensible play might also be to cover your stakes with a bet on over 2.5 goals at evens too.

Back Arsenal to win to nil today, Football Champion’s League at BetUK

Relegation battlers Middles brough travel to north London today to play an in-form Arsenal. Despite recent injuries suffered in defence, Arsenal has been extremely difficult to break down at the Emirates - so we expect them to win to nil here.

Keep an eye on football betting champion's league. The Gunners have maintained a clean sheet in each of their last seven Premiership matches at home, and have gained seven of their nine league victories at the Emirates this season without conceding a goal.

Additionally, Arsenal have won ten and drawn two of 12 matches hosting bottom six opposition in the past two years, winning six times without reply.

Middlesbrough appears to be the perfect opponents for Arsenal to extend their clean sheet home run to eight, and record an eighth home win to nil.

Boro’s goal in their 4-1 defeat at Bolton in their last away match was the first goal they have scored on the road in eight matches. Indeed, Middlesbrough has lost all of their last nine league games on the road.

Also, Gareth Southgate’s team have managed just one point from seven matches on the road to Big Four opposition since the start of last season, with three of the last four matches being lost to-nil.

To get some value we are recommending two bets - one on Arsenal to win 2-0 and one on 3-0, at 5/1 and 17/2 respectively with sports betting uk.

Hull City V Liverpool, Football Champion’s League at BetUK

After a pulsating draw against Arsenal on Tuesday night (4-4) Liverpool takes on a struggling Hull side.

Liverpool sit at the top of the champions league (at the time of writing) but I see Tuesdays' draw as two points dropped and not one point gained, at this stage of the season you need to be consistently winning the three points to put the pressure back on your opponents.

The last time these two clubs met in league action back last December the game ended 2-2, Liverpool 'bossed' the game but did not record the three points that they needed, Hull were probably playing better football then than they are right now.

Hull sits in sixteenth place and are only three points above the relegation zone, you have to look back to the first week in March for Hull's last three points and they desperately need to post some points quickly.

This is a pretty tough call over all, Liverpool need the points to keep their title hopes alive and Hull need them to try and stay in the Premier League.

Looking at Hull's results, their last home league win was against Middlesbrough back in early December and I think that Liverpool will be just to strong for them.

A good bet might be to take Liverpool to beat Hull City 2-1 at +750 with odds found at sports betting UK.

Chelsea FA Cup Favorites, FA Cup Final at BetUK

Everton are excited to be in the FA Cup final, but they know they come into this big game as significant underdogs, despite beating Liverpool, Aston Villa, Middlesbrough and Manchester United to get to the final game.

The Merseysiders moved through after a 4-2 win on penalties following a 0-0 regulation tie vs. Man U and still no score after 120 minutes. Phil Jagielka was the hero, scoring the winning goal.

Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard performed brilliantly saving two penalties from Dimitar Berbatov and Rio Ferdinand. The loss for United killed their hopes of sweeping the five trophies this season.

Still, Everton know they have to win to cap off this magical run, as no one remembers who comes in second. Chelsea, with their star power and pedigree, has caught the attention of punters, most who feel they will dispatch the Everton side, dousing this “Cinderella” story.

Everton captain Phil Neville and his crew have done a fantastic job of splintering the usual dominance of the Big Four…do they have one more arrow left for Chelsea?

Next month’s FA Cup Final at Wembley will be the biggest game of their careers for most of the Everton players, while the Blues are somewhat more used to playing on a large stage. But Everton has stepped up when doubted several times already in their quest for this trophy.

Meanwhile Chelsea has to be concerned with not only an FA Cup trophy, but they are in the Champions League semi-final and sit third in the Premier League. And the crew at Stamford Bridge is also focused, or should be, on keeping Guus Hiddink.

His arrival has turned the team around and produced an unmitigated success…although suggestions continue to circle that he won’t be staying for the long-term. Could it be possible he departs even after leading his charges to wins in the FA Cup and Champions League.

The odds are up for the FA Cup Final, it should be an entertaining build up to the big game. Put an eye on football betting for FA Cup Champions League.

Nadal Pays Off For His Backers, 2009 Men’s French Open - BetUK

Betting on Andy Murray can be exhilarating at times and heartbreaking at times. This past week gave tennis punters a bit of both. Murray looked good making his way to the semi-final in Monte Carlo, but he ran into Rafael Nadal when he arrived in that semi match…and the Monte Carlo tournament is played on clay court…which isn’t a good thing for anyone playing Nadal.

Have a look at 2009 Men’s French Open. Nadal beat Murray, crushing the hopes and knocking up the bankroll of all the Murray bettors which there were many. Murray put up a valiant fight, but was dispatched after losing in a tie-break set.

Nadal then moved on to the finals where he beat Serbia's Novak Djokovic 6-3, 2-6 and 6-1. It was Nadal’s fifth consecutive Monte Carlo title.

Spain's number one tennis player looked great in the first set before Djokovic took advantage of uncharacteristic errors to win the second set 6-2. However, the clay court master struck back in the third set, breezing to a 6-1 set and match victory.

After this performance there is little doubt he will be the odds-on favorite for the upcoming Roland Garros tournament. Punters will still lay the big odds and back him in the Open, as his clay court play is the best in the world.

For Murray fans, it was nice to hear Nadal sing his praises after their match, saying the young Brit has the game to win Major tournaments, starting with the French Open. Odds will be favorable for the tennis betting public on Murray at Roland Garros.

Keep your eyes open for French Open Odds and tennis betting opportunities.

Italian Serie A Picks, Palermo V Bologna at BetUK

Last week saw Bologna sack Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic after a slump in form which has seen them drop into the Italian Serie A relegation zone.

Bologna have named former Siena and Lecce boss Giuseppe Papadopulo as his replacement for the remainder of the season.

A statement from the club read: "Bologna FC wish to announce we have relieved Sinisa Mihajlovic of his duties as first-team coach, and would like to send him sincere thanks for the effort and professionalism he has given.

"The technical tasks have now been appointed to Giuseppe Papadopulo." Bologna returned to the top flight last summer after three years in Serie B but look set for a swift return.

They started well under previous boss Daniele Arrigoni but a downturn in fortunes saw him sacked in November with Mihajlovic brought in.

They have struggled to find any consistency under the Serbian, however, and he leaves with the Rossoblu third bottom, one point and one place from safety with seven games remaining this season.

The reverse fixture last November saw the Rossoblu share the points after a 1-1 draw. As so often happens when a new manager or coach is appointed team spirits are lifted and sometimes great results can follow.

With this in mind I am going to take a punt on the visitors at a rather nice +350 for the win. Bet Bologna to beat Palermo in the regulation 90 minutes at +350 with sports betting uk

Chelsea Move Through to Semis, Chelsea V Liverpool Semifinal - BetUK

In a thrilling Champions League match played on Tuesday, Chelsea didn’t disappoint the home town fans at Stamford Bridge by knocking off Liverpool in their quarter-final battle.

It was a memorable 4-4 draw, which resulted in Chelsea moving on due to a 7-5 win on aggregate.

Despite the fans euphoria at the end of the game, the home side gave them plenty to be uncomfortable about in the first half.

Chelsea came into the match with a 3-1 lead in the quarter-finals after delivering an impressive victory at Anfield in the first leg of this home-and-home series.

Perhaps it was over-confidence, but Chelsea was clearly overmatched from the start, as Liverpool swarmed their end and didn’t let up for the entire half…heading into the dressing room after 45 minutes with a two-goal lead.

Yes, Liverpool has been focused on winning the English Premier League, but it was apparent from the opening touch that they weren’t about to hand the semi-final spot to this EPL rival.

The Blues gave up goals to Fabio Aurelio and Xabi Alonso in the first 30, giving the visitor confidence and causing the Chelsea fans to berate their team.

However, a half-time tongue lashing from Hiddink spurred the Blues, who came out and responded in championship fashion, pushing the play and creating wonderful scoring opportunities right from the opening of the second half.

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard tallied twice, while Alex and Didier Drogba added the others.

Chelsea will now move on to face Barcelona, which advanced 5-1 on aggregate after a 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich. Worth noting is that both teams were without their captains. John Terry was sidelined serving a suspension and Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard needed additional rest for a groin injury.

In their next game, Chelsea will be without left back Ashley Cole, who picked up a booking that will rule him out of the first leg at Nou Camp.

FC Porto V Manchester United, Porto V Man Utd - BetUK

Champions League Football - With three minutes remaining last Tuesday Manchester United appeared to have a 2-1 lead to take into the second leg, however a late Mariano equalizer gives Porto the away goal advantage to take into the second leg after the 2-2 draw at Old Trafford.

Manchester United have to be the first British team to win in Porto in the Champions League if they are going to progress in this years competition, a tall order but again not impossible.

The only 'draw' that will take United through automatically is 3-3 and that would be an away goals victory, 0-0, 1-1 would take Porto through and 2-2 would take the game to extra time.

Recommendations for a bet are made slightly easier by the following two facts...

No team has ever defended the Champions League trophy in its current format, plus the above fact that no team has beaten Porto at home in this competition.

Bet Porto to beat Manchester United in the regulation 90 minutes at +240 with sports betting.

Stoke can beat Newcastle in 6-pointer, Stoke V Newcastle - BetUK

In the Saturday evening game between Stoke and Newcastle we have a classic 6-pointer with both teams desperate to avoid relegation.

Alan Shearer’s much heralded arrival in the Newcastle hot-seat last week failed to stem the tide of poor results as Chelsea ran out comfortable winners. But this week they will feel they can win, or at least take a point out of the game.

Newcastle have taken just two points from their last six Premiership games, home and away, a run that leaves them three points adrift from safety with just seven matches remaining.

Moreover, Newcastle visit a Stoke City team who has recorded three wins from their last four Premiership matches, and have tasted defeat just once in their last six games, home and away.

Indeed, Stoke, who will view this match as crucial to their own eventual survival hopes, have proved to be extremely tough opposition at the Britannia Stadium all season.

The Potters have won six and drawn three of nine Premiership home games against teams outside of the top six – and we can certainly see them extending their run here. At 7/5 to win they are the value bet.

Barcelona/Bayern Munich Goals, Villarreal/Arsenal draw - BetUK

Barcelona and Bayern Munich, who meet in tonight’s Champions League quarter-final, are the joint-highest scorers in this season’s contest with 24 goals each from eight games.

The hosts of the first leg, Barça, have conceded the most goals (11) of any of the quarter-finalists and, after five attempts, have still to keep a clean sheet on home soil.

It is rare that over 2.5 Goals is odds-on for the first leg of a Champions League knockout tie, but, even so, it is a firm recommendation because defence is not the first priority of either of these sides.

We therefore feel that the best value bet here is to bet on over 2.5/3 goals with BetUK at 4/5. Check football betting for prices on other markets.

Villarreal/Arsenal looks like a draw

In terms of their strength in depth there is no doubt that Arsenal are a superior team and should come away from tonight’s Champions League quarter-final against Villarreal with a win.

However, there are enough reasons to believe that this will be a tricky encounter and while Arsenal have better players we think the value has to be in betting on a draw, available at 41/20 with BetUK.

Technically-gifted Villarreal have lost just twice at home all season and they will be determined to frustrate the Gunners at their intimidating, tight ground, with a view to grabbing the all-important away goal at the Emirates.

Given that they have held Man United to four goalless draws in as many attempts, they can probably do so again here, and backing the 0-0 score line at 13/2 could certainly look like a clever play by 10pm this evening.

Arsenal’s returning players are still short of match fitness, which means that over the two legs they should go through, but in the meantime backing Under 2.0 goals at 19/20 also has to be recommended.

Man Utd v Porto, Man Utd should be wary of Porto - BetUK

Man Utd host Porto tomorrow night in their Champions League quarter-final and are available to back at 1.36 for victory in 90 minutes, with Porto at 8.5 and the draw at 4.3.

Before bettors pile in it is worth bearing in mind that this won’t necessarily be an easy game for United, coming just two days after their hard fought victory over Aston Villa.

Man Utd v Porto - BetUK.com

However, with so much strength in depth (no finer example than what Federico Macheda showed on Sunday) you have to fancy the home side to take a first leg advantage back to Portugal.

Rio Ferdinand misses out through injury but Nemanja Vidic (who was suspended for Sunday’s league game) returns, as does Wayne Rooney, who was also banned for the Villa game after his late sending-off at Craven Cottage.

But be warned! Porto are on an unbeaten run of 21 games in all competitions stretching back to 1 November last year, and are four points clear in the Portuguese Liga Sagres with just seven games remaining. They certainly won’t be a pushover.

Tiger Woods tries for 5th green jacket - BetUK

Tiger Woods is back and this week he’ll be looking for the 15th major championship of his career when he tees it up at Augusta National Golf Club.

Not only is Tiger stalking his 15th major, he is also trying to win his fifth Masters title.

Of course Tiger is the big favorite, but Australian Geoff Ogilvy is getting some attention from punters, as his recent form play warrants keeping an eye out for him. South African Trevor Immelman is the defending champion.

Tiger Woods trying 5th Masters Title - BetUK.com

He won last year with the highest final round for a Masters champ in the history of the tournament. Immelman posted a 75 on Sunday during the 2008 tournament, a three-over par round that didn’t sink his day, as he still won by three strokes.

American Phil Mickelson is always going to be a player bettors back in the majors and the masters is no different, as he has had steady action heading into Masters week. Lefty won the first major of his career at Augusta back in 2004 when he birdied five of the last seven holes to grab the green jacket…it was a very impressive performance.

It’s going to be an exciting week of golf betting and golf talk building up to the first group teeing off on Thursday.

Malaga V Real Madrid | Football Betting - BetUK

The tussle at the top of the league between Real and Barca is set to renew this weekend after the International break.Barca holds the advantage at this stage by being 6 points ahead of their fierce rivals, with 10 matches left to play.
Real have had a tough time in recent weeks, being knocked out of the Champions League, but at least they have managed to say on track in the Spanish League having won their last two matches convincingly.
Malaga Vs Real Madrid – BetUK.com
In fact besides their Champions League exit they have not really done a lot wrong in recent months, there was of course their draw to Atletico, but derby's throw these results sometimes and Real will be eager to register another three points this weekend.
Back in November Malaga narrowly lost out in a thrilling 4-3 loss to Real and they will be up for this match to try and avenge that defeat.
I have a sneaky feeling that this match could be a shock result waiting to happen and I am going to recommend Malaga for the victory.
Bet Malaga to beat Real Madrid in the regulation 90 minutes at +335 with BetUK. Champion’s league, Spanish league and updates about all leagues are at sports betting.

Keep a watching brief on Brawn GP, Australian Grand Prix - BetUK.com

Jenson Button insists there is more to come from him and his team after leading home a Brawn GP one-two at the season-opening Australian Grand Prix. Button led from start to finish, despite two safety car periods, with Rubens Barrichello second in Melbourne.

The result was a remarkable one for Brawn GP, who become the first debut team to finish one-two since 1954, when Juan Manuel Fangio led home Karl Kling for Mercedes in the French Grand Prix.

Australian Grand Prix - betuk.com

From a betting perspective it is too early to tell whether Brawn GP are the Real Deal. It is worth waiting to see whether they can maintain this performance in Malaysia next weekend before having a bet on them to win the Constructors Championship, or Button the Drivers Championship.

The likes of McLaren Mercedes and Ferrari aren’t just going to disappear into thin air and will do everything they can to get back in the game.
