Clearly Berdych has been in the better form in recent matches, but does that mean he can progress against this well known foe?
Of their ten previous encounters, just two have been played on clay and the scoreline for this surface is 1-1, with Berdych winning their last encounter in the final of the Munich Open in 2009. They played four matches in 2009, with the year ending two wins each, but have not played in 2010 and both players will be desperate to win and progress to the final four section of the tournament.
