She is currently ranked at World No.1 in the ATP rankings in single and doubles and she is No.1 seed in the Wimbledon 2010. Petra Kvitova never won the grand slam title in her career so far, she reached Wimbledon semi finals for the first time. She is currently ranked at world No 62 in the ATP rankings.
In the 2010 Wimbledon, Serena Williams defeated Michelle Larcher De Brito with 6-0 and 6-4 in the first round. In the second round, she defeated Anna Chakvetadze with 6-0 and 6-1. In the third round, she defeated Dominika Cibulkova with 6-0 and 7-5 and in the fourth round she defeated Maria Sharapova with 7-6(9) and 6-4. Serena Williams defeated Li Na in the quarterfinals with 7-5 and 6-3.
Petra Kvitova defeated Sorana Cirstea in the first round of the 2010 Wimbledon. She defeated 23rd seed Zheng Jie with 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 in the second round and in the third round, she won against 14th seed Victoria Azarenka with 7-5, 6-0. In the fourth round, Petra Kvitova defeated 3rd seed Caroline Wozniacki with 6-2 and 6-0.
