Sania and Somdev to Play U.S Open

The world’s famous Indian tennis players, Sania Mirza and Somdev Devvarman are in the top of the first round at the U.S Open. The U.S Open is going to start on Monday at New York.

Sania is going to fight against, Michelle Larcher De Britto from Portugal. Currently, Sania ranked at 160 and De Britto, 176. After a long time, Sania is playing Grand slam through the qualifiers. Sania has won two qualifying rounds against, Ksenia Lykina and Elena Bovina and entered to the quarter finals of Grand slam tournament. This is the major winning victory in her career.

In the final qualifier game, Sania beat Catalina Castano with a score of 6-1, 1-6, 6-3.

Somdev stated that, he feels very excited to play for U.S open. He also added that, “I'm going to have to take every chance I get. I will have to play extremely well to win." Currently, Somdev ranked at 99.
