The confidence behind England has died down in recent weeks as the tournament has drawn closer but the fact remains that with Fabio Capello in charge England have their best chance of winning a World Cup since they fell at the Semi Final stage of Italia ’90.
Since qualifying from their group with nine wins from ten matches, England have played four games, beating Egypt, Mexico and Japan but they were beaten by Brazil in Doha at the end of 2009.

USA, on the other hand, qualified for the World Cup around the same time as England but they have played eight matches in that time and they lost five and won three. They warmed up for the World Cup by playing the Czech Republic, Turkey and Australia.
They were beaten 4-2 by the Czechs but followed that up with a 2-1 win over Turkey and a 3-1 win over Australia. They will be confident going into the match knowing that they can score goals. Will they be able to defeat the English though?

The game should be close and competitive as both sides will know each other very well as the majority of the players on show will have played in the Premier League and I feel that there will be plenty of goals as both sides have scored the last three of England’s games and the last seven of the USA’s matches. As a result of this I’ll be backing both sides to score @ 11/10 and over 2.5 goals @ evens.
